Where do they get all the hair for the human hair weaves and wigs?

Published by admin at 1:16 am under Human Wigs

I know that people donate hair for wigs for cancer patients. Yet, it takes more than one person to make one wig. In the city we live, I know that it is at least 10 beauty stores with human hair and weaves. Let’s say that they have around two hundred in each store, wigs, weaves and packaged hair, which is a modest number. That would consist of about 400 people selling hair. If they restock about 30 per week, that is 60 more heads of hair and about 240 per week. Now, it takes a month for human hair to grow 1/2 inch. So it would take the average human 2 years to grow enough hair for just one pack of 12 in hair weave. If you think about all the other beauty stores around, and multiply it, the numbers are incredibly high. So where are they getting all this human hair?

Mostly its thru donations although a lot of places get hair from poor countries. I remember reading about it on line how over in Inda and Chiina poor people cut and sell their hair. I wish I could remember the site I read it from.

Hope that helps!
