hi.. i’m going to bham uni and we’ve got a few fancy dress nights during freshers. are there any costume shops or fancy dress shops in birmingham itself where i can buy a few wigs maybe (afro in particular) and a couple other things. quick reply would be much appreciated as my freshers starts in a few days

Me friend and I are attending a fancy dress party and would like to go as a pair. We’re having trouble settling on an idea.
We came up with a possible; Daphne and Velma from Scooby Doo or Danny and Sandy from Grease.
This however would be a problem as we both have long hair, one blonde one brunette and would rather not choose costumes that demand a wig.
We realise the requirements are quite specific, your suggestion would be helpful to us. Thankyou.

Can some one help me quick I have an upcoming fancy dress party and i need something to wear everyone else is going either as a hippie or teacher something like that and my mum bought me a spirit costume i need help before 7:00 pm since it is all day at school tomorrow i need something that goes with a white wig (i am a girl).

i think even though you have dark hair… with a blonde wig you could look a LOT like christina aguilera..

My sisters going to a fancy dress party today and she going as hannah montana the only problem is the wig she was going to use is all messed up how can i make it look great without pulling hair out ?

wet it as if u are going to wash it then rub some conditioner in ur hands then put it on d hair and use a comb to comb it through not a brush coz u’ll snap the hair!! start from d end n work ur way up.. when ur drying it dont have the dryer to hot or it’l frizz!! try using a round brush to smooth it whilst drying it…good luck…x

I aint paying no extortionate amount of monies for it, but I would like one that doesnt look like crap. I have come across these "cosplay" ones that look quite good. I wanna blue one!

Hi - I need to dress in the theme of rock and pop stars.

I am trying to come up with a female pop / rock star from the past 30-40 years who has a very distinctive look - so that people know immediately who I am!

Madonna & Blondie already taken

I am 35 year old female, average build, with long dark hair… though would happily wear a wig / make-up and completely daft costumes. I can hire stuff, so please think widely… :S

janis joplin - you could do the 60s thing, get a boa even and go as her alter ego Pearl - don’t forget the bottle of southern comfort
cyndi lauper - use total retro clothing from the 50s but with crazy punk hair
cher - her 70s look is fun
tina turner has a distinct look
stevie nicks - long blonde hair and an outfit that includes a silky/seethrough cape
