I need some ideas for an original fancy dress outfit. The theme is Australian and i don’t want to go dressed head to toe in khaki! Dame Edna is a possibility but i can’t find any good wigs. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!? ps not Kylie minogue! (I don’t have the figure!)cheers x

My hair is the "modern bob" - chin length in the front, short and funky in the back (a la old Victoria Beckham).
And I am hating it, and am incredibly impatient because I have had this style for a looong time - and I recently made the mistake of cutting it again.

But I am now desperate for long hair (I hate impulse hair cuts). It is too short in the back for hair extension clip ins. And if I were to get hair extensions I’d want high quality ones, which I definitely do not have the funds for …… plus, I’ve heard those only last a short while.

So I’ve been looking into human hair wigs. I would preferably get a shoulder length one, with bangs so that it didn’t have that forehead-wig line going on………

So basically, my question is: Does anyone have any experience with wigs? Any good websites? Any suggestions?

I know patience is a virtue, but I am SO SICK of having short hair - I’ve had it for about three years - and I am just desperate for a change.

try a human hair lace front wig. They are $300 and more. I bought one recently and I absolutely love it! no one can tell its not my hair.

If you were out on a Friday or Saturday night at the pub/bar drinking with your friends and you saw a guy there who was wearing womens clothes a - not a full-on transvestite with wig & make up etc but a guy who was just wearing the clothes, what would you do, say or think about what your seeing?

I cross dress sometimes and it’s simply because I like the look and feel of skirts. I’ve been to bars before dressed up and had a good time -met and chatted with women.

Before anyone stereotypes me, I like women only and I’m not camp in any way.

I appreciate that you enjoy women’s clothes without trying to hide the fact that you’re a man. It reminds me of the women in the 50’s who challenged social convention and wore trousers. When Katherine Hepburn wore a men’s suit to an interview, she only said that she felt comfortable in pants. Back in those days society said these women were trying to act like men. Society said they were jealous of men. Still women persisted and eventually society accepted that these girls were not bad, they were not trying to be men, they were just comfortable in pants and other men’s clothes.

Now is the time for men to challenge social convention. If I was a man I would do it. I think it would be fun. It would be fun seeing the reaction you get from others. Its only by challenging social convention that we learn to expand our tolerances. So here are a few suggestions for you to try on:

I think dresses look best on men when they have a lean hard-body. You can’t have any gut and still wear a dress/skirt. You have to stay trim and fit. It’s okay to have some muscle, but no fat. So try to stay as slim as possible.

I am looking at wigs on the wigs.com website. I received a wig today http://www.thewigs.com/view_detail.asp?indx=2781 and it is too silky. I see wigs on there that say "fine silky yaky texture" (http://www.thewigs.com/view_detail.asp?indx=4570). They’ll say things like "smooth" "silky" or "natural" and I don’t know what to go by. I can’t find anything that ever says straight up "yaky". I have to blend the hair with my own and worried it is all too silky. Anything you see on this site that is a yaky human hair wig? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks

lace front wigs last anywhere from 3 to 12 months. It depends often you will wear them. Most manufacturers offers repair service and that helps the prolong the life of your lace wig. Keep in mind though you have to take care of your lace wig just like you would your own hair. See the link below, they have excellent videos on how to attach and remove lace wigs
