Am I a cross-dresser?

Published by admin under Womens Wig

I really enjoy wearing womens clothes. more for the fit than the fashion. I bought some tank tops with lace. and a pink and white lace tunic. I don't wear dresses or skirts. I don't wear make-up or a wig. I don't wear womens clothes all the time but I do go out in public. Am I a cross-dresser.

I think this kind of straddles the line of cross-dressing.

Classic psychoanalytic views of cross-dressing emphasized the role of "taboo" in the behavior. Only items that were proscribed to a gender would be appropriated, and therefore it is not the general association of an item with one sex or the other but the prohibitions against the item that give satisfaction to those with a fetish attachment to cross-dressing.

Now, since it seems like you like to wear these things only because they fit well and you like the variety of fashion, but NOT because you are deriving some kind of sexual "charge" from it, I do not think you could technically be classified as a cross-dresser.

Also, if you're not wearing these things to try to portray yourself as a woman, I think that just makes you a guy who likes women's shirts.

Why do African American women try to be Caucasian?

Published by admin under African American Wig

READ: Ladies, don’t you get tired of that question and people saying it? I seriously don’t understand why people say African American women try to be white. How? Is it because we straighten our hair( first off, its more manageable, and Corporate America wouldn’t accept us natural. True stuff). Ive never wore a weave or a wig, my hair is very curly and thick so when tryin to just throw it in a pony tail is difficult, so I get my hair flat ironed. I get called tryin to “be white” for doing this. My sistas(african american women) who do wear weaves and chemically straighten their hair are also bashed and been told that they’re “tryin to be white”. Why cant we straighten our freakin hair without being told that? No, better question. How is an African American woman suppose to look?
latrell: I know this and I said that before, but Ive seen questions and many black guys saying it..I just want to know what they mean and what they think African American women should look like
*I've said
hnic, stop.
Lol: And you're telling me this because?

cj are you 4 real…black women and all sistas look just fine the way they are…its the white women with all there butt implanta and lip injections who are trying to look black

edit: my bad…. i didnt read the rest…but still i spoke the truth

What To Do About Your Hair Loss

Published by admin under Wig Human Hair

Many people suffer from or worry about hair loss. In fact, almost two-thirds of men will experience this at some point in their lives. However, one has to realize that it is a natural occurrence to everyone and usually is not a cause for alarm. Your hair falls out daily and then grows again as part of its natural growth cycle.

It is a cause for alarm, however, when the hair loss is more severe and does not seem to be growing back. In this case, it is time to go see a doctor to try and find a solution. However, realize that though some hair loss treatments may work for some, they may not work for others, and in fact there is no real guarantee that any of these treatments will work.

There are many reasons for hair loss—it may be certain medications, illness, or hormone imbalance in your body. You can start off by trying some natural remedies, supplements or shampoo. But with severe hair loss, it is probably a good idea to go see a doctor and get medication. There are several medications that can help stop or slow your loss such as Rogaine or its generic name Minoxidil, which is an over-the-counter topical medication that seems to be quite effective. It is applied to the scalp and massaged in, but it may take up to six months to see any positive results. Another popular drug is Propecia or generic name Finasteride, and is available only by prescription. It is in pill form and has to be orally taken, and again, takes up to six months for any results to show.

Other than trying medications, you can also try restyling your hair to make your baldness less obvious. For example, men with baldness on top of their head can comb the remaining hair on either side over the top to cover the bald patch.

If the bald patch is too obvious, then probably something more concealing may work better, such as a wig or toupee. Wigs or toupees nowadays are much better made than those years ago. Wigs today are also less obvious as they can be made with human or good quality artificial hair.

If you are experiencing hair loss, then time is of essence. You should seek the help of a doctor right away. There are plenty of treatment options that will help stop your hair loss and allow it to grow back again.

Antique German Dolls – a Little Bit of History

Published by admin under Human Wigs

From the 1840’s through until the early 1920’s, some of the most beautiful dolls ever created, were produced in Germany.

The earliest dolls, often referred to as Parian (meaning untinted bisque) were created in famous pottery factories in Copenhagen and in Dresden. These dolls had beautifully delicate molded features, including not only their faces, but their hair as well, often with molded ribbons, bows, snood, flowers and sometimes a collar. Delicate exacting colorations made every one of these dolls a work of art. These dolls are rare and valuable.

Their popularity peaked around the end of the 1870’s and can be dated by their hairstyles. Parian Bisque led to the more common China Head Dolls. These dolls were mass produced, and have a shiny glaze finish over the plain untinted bisque. These dolls ranged in size from tiny 1” tall frozen charlotte type dolls to large as 24”. These dolls were most popular between 1860 and 1900, as a cheaper alternative to the latest doll craze, that of tinted unglazed bisque that was becoming more and more popular and available. In the early 1890’s the German doll manufacturers began mass producing many lovely quality dolls that began to rival the quality of the French dolls.

Dolls began to be modelled after real children. Emotions and expressions became visible. The famous period of the “dolly type” face was born.

These beautiful dolly face dolls traditionally had “sleep eyes” made to open and close, set into the head carefully with plaster. The eyes were hand blown glass. They also have open mouths, usually showing 4 upper teeth. Fine mohair wigs, or human hair wigs were also used on these dolls. The heads were attached to sophisticated ball joint bodies.

Many of these dolly face dolls were produced in small cottage industry circumstances, and the maker of many remains unknown. The more famous German doll manufacturers such as Heinrich Handwerck, Heuback-Kopplesdorf, Kammer and Reinhard, J.D.Kestner, Armand Marseille and Simon and Halbig, clearly placed their hallmark, and doll mold numbers onto the back of the doll’s neck, making it possible to date, value and appraise many of their dolls.

One of the most famous dolls of all to come out of this period was the “Bye-Lo” baby doll. It is documented that the artist, Grace Storey Putnam searched hospital nurseries in the early 1920’s looking for just the right tiny model for this doll. The Bye-Lo baby was followed by “My Dream Baby”.

The value placed on Antique German Dolls, is based on their rarity, on the quality in craftsmanship of a particular doll, the condition of the doll, and by how much of the doll remains in original condition. This will include such factors as repairs to the head or body, replaced eyes or wig, and many other factors.

Antique German dolls continue to appreciate in value. The quality and talent put into every doll made is appreciated more and more by collectors of antique dolls as the years go by.
